Abercych: Arrest made after serious assault in village

A SERIOUS assault took place at a phone box near the Penrhiw Inn, Abercych on Friday (Jul 31) and a 52-year-old man has been remanded in custody until August 10.

Anthony Trevor Osmond of Llandysul has been charged with Section 18 Assault, commonly known as grievous bodily harm and will appear before Swansea Crown Court on August 10.

A 40-year-old female has been bailed while enquiries continue.

The 24-year-old victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and a family liaison officer is supporting his relatives.

Detective Chief Inspector Estelle Hopkin-Davies said: “We are grateful to the community for their support and co-operation throughout this enquiry.

We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. If anyone witnessed the incident, or has any information I would appeal for them to contact us by calling 101, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
