ADAM PRICE AM has launched a petition which aims to start a House of Commons debate on the motion that Tony Blair had acted in contempt of Parliament during the debate about the war in Iraq.
The AM for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr and former MP believes that Tony Blair should be held accountable for his actions.
The petition, which as of this afternoon (Jul 22) has over 7000 signatures, states: “The Chilcot Report has presented a range of evidence that demonstrates that Parliament and the country were misled by Tony Blair in the run up to the war in Iraq. Parliament should now agree a process by which it can hold the former Prime Minister to account.”
The petition is open until Jan 20, 2017, and it needs to reach 100,000 signatures before that date to be eligible for a debate in Westminster.
