Affordable homes to rent or buy available to view online

PEOPLE on the housing register in Carmarthenshire will soon be able to see what homes are available to rent, online.

All vacant homes ready for occupation and low cost homes to buy will be advertised under the council’s new Home Finder scheme.

The scheme will replace the current system from March 29, and comes following a review of the council’s housing allocation policy.

Existing applicants will need to transfer across before the end of the month in order to remain on the list or to be able to express an interest in any of the advertised homes online.

The order of priority for allocations remains the same as the current system.

All those on the housing choice register are being contacted over the next week or so.

For those without access to online services, support will be available at our customer service Hwbs and libraries across the county.

The councils’ executive board member for housing, Cllr Linda Davies-Evans said: “Home Finder has been developed after listening to people’s views on the way we allocated our homes. For the first time people on the housing register will be able to pick the home that suits them. If you’ve received your login details, please don’t forget to go online and complete the registration process or you won’t be able to bid on homes advertised.”
