AN AMMANFORD woman armed with an iron bar, two knives and two screwdrivers told police she was on her way to kill another woman.

Vanessa Hopla, aged 47, had been spotted walking towards Llandybie along Ammanford Road at 6.25am on April 4.
Ian Ibrahim, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court  on Friday (May 27) that police pulled up alongside her and asked her if she was all right because she seemed to be intoxicated.
She asked them for a lift back to Ammanford, but when they asked her where she had been going she told them, “I’m going to kill a woman.”
Officers then searched her and found a one foot long metal bar, two kitchen knives and two screwdrivers.
Hopla, of Treforis, admitted possessing an article for the destruction of property and four offences of possessing a bladed or pointed article in a public place.
Mr Ibrahim said Hopla had fallen out with Mikayla Bushell, who she believed owed her £100.
He said the prosecution now accepted the account she later gave to police, that she would have broken the windows of Miss Bushell’s home and not actually killed her.
But on the way she became tired.
Hopla was jailed for nine months, suspended for 18 months, and made the subject of a 12 month drug rehabilitation order involving regular testing.
