Andrew Price: Business Director of the Year

ANDREW PRICE, Business Director at Andrew Price Group, has recently stood tall over a vast industry of 245,745 professional UK hairdressers, who work in 35,000 hairdressing salons. He has been named by hairdressers as the Business Director of the Year at the prestigious British Hairdressing Business Awards awards ceremony, which was held at the Lancaster London Hotel.

This was awarded to Andrew for his outstanding passion and dedication to not only his role within the salon, but also to the hairdressing industry as a whole. The judges were wowed by Andrew’s achievements and how he motivates his team. They found his entrepreneurial skills second to none and it’s plain to see why he is viewed so highly within the industry.

Andrew now has 9 salons in total, including Haverfordwest, Tenby and Narberth, Carmarthen, Llanelli, Lampeter, Cardigan and Swansea.

Andrew says: “I am absolutely elated. If you look back in the history of the award and the people who have won it, it’s amazing to see myself up there with them. There are some real heroes who have won it and I’m still in shock! I was happy enough to have been a finalist three times but winning it is wow! We upped it a level this year in terms of our retail and client retention and have had a great year. To have a business award is really important as we are creative people by nature but we have a lot of responsibility to run a successful business. Huge thanks to my wife, my children and the team, and especially to all of our wonderful clients.

The final word goes to Hairdressers Journal International’s executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr, who says: “It is a great honour to have business directors like Andrew Price within the industry as they are setting a new benchmark for others to follow. It is because of businesses like this that the UK hairdressing industry retains its position as the most highly esteemed in the world.

“British hairdressing is one of this country’s most positive business messages and of that, we are incredibly proud. The future looks incredibly bright as this recession resistant sector forecasts women’s haircare product sales alone to grow 9% to reach £1.51 billion by 2020. In the hands of these phenomenal business thinkers we can see why.”
