Angle: Council issues warning to dog owners

palm oilPEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has issued a warning for dog owners in Pembrokeshire to keep a close eye on their pets around Angle beach after reports of a toxic substance being washed up.

The council decided this morning (Jan 16) to place warning signs at the beach as the substance is investigated and cleaned up from the shore.

The substance is believed to be palm oil.

Humans are not in danger from palm oil, however it can be fatal for dogs, and other animals, if it is ingested.

Because of this, the council is advising that dog walkers avoid Angle beach for the time being.

The council say that officers will be monitoring the site during the clean-up.
