Armed police respond to Lammas Street incident

LAMMAS STREET in Carmarthen was closed off by armed police yesterday evening (May 10) as armed police arrested a man who was screaming ‘I am not a terrorist, I’m doing this for my family’.

Officers with rifles and stun guns blocked the busy street at approximately 5pm from the junction with Water Street.

The middle aged man was handcuffed by police officers and taken from the scene.

No weapons were discharged and no injuries have been reported from the incident.

It is not yet known what caused the response to the property.

Following the  man’s arrest, the street was re-opened.
