Biker Heroes to serve Carmarthenshire

Screen Shot 2016-04-27 at 11.42.42A MOTORCYCLIST from Carmarthenshire is giving up his day to become a ‘Biker Hero’ for those in need.

To celebrate the beginning of bike season, the UK’s favourite motorcycle insurance brokers, Carole Nash, will be giving back to the community by teaming up with several generous bikers across the UK, launching its first ever ‘Hero Day’.

On Friday (Apr 15), anyone living in Carmarthenshire who is in need of a helping hand just has to log on to Twitter and tweet to the Carole Nash @InsideBikes Twitter account using the designated hashtag #Ineedabikerhero

John Rees will be one of the many volunteer bikers on hand to pick up your lunch, take flowers to your loved one or even post your mail at the Post Office.

As a thank you to John for donating his time, Carole Nash will provide him with fuel costs as well as donating £50 to the charity of his choice, Blood Bikes Wales.

John Rees said: “I think that the Carole Nash Hero Day is a great idea and I’m proud to be a part of it, especially as I get to ride my bike and help people at the same time.”

Rebecca Donohue, Head of Marketing at Carole Nash, said: “We want to tackle the everyday struggles and we are pleased to be able to offer a helping hand to people in Carmarthenshire on our Hero Day.

“We were overwhelmed with the number of responses from bikers who offered to help out and we thank John for giving up his time to take part.

“We want to show that the biking community is one of the friendliest, most warm and welcoming groups to be a part of, shattering any sort of misconceptions or stereotypes about bikers and biking.”

If demand is too high, John might not be able to help everyone out, so Carole Nash will also be sending out random acts of kindness gifts to a selection of lucky people who tweet @ InsideBikes on April 15.

On top of this, Carole Nash are encouraging the whole biking community to do what they can on the day to help others. This may be helping an elderly neighbour to do their shopping, buying a treat for a friend who is having a hard time or donating items to a charity of your choice.

To show your support for Hero Day, share your good deed of the day on Twitter using the hashtag #BikerHeroes or alternatively tag someone who you think is a biking hero.
