Boutique hotel will boast new spar

Taking shape: The new spa development at The Corran, Laugharne.

THE CORRAN RESORT AND SPAR is getting closer to unveiling its exciting and extensive new spa development.

The double storey extension to the spa, which will be open to members outside the hotel, is set to be complete by late summer giving a whole new dimension to the impressive boutique hotel set in 250 acres of Carmarthenshire countryside near Laugharne.

The spa, just part of various phases of development planned at The Corran, will include some state-of-the-art facilities including steam room, sauna, new Jacuzzi, and a larger gym facility.

On top of that there will be double the number of treatment rooms, communal area for lounge and/or exercise classes. There will also be new changing facilities and a new reception area and a lift for disabled access.

All these facilities will not only be open to hotel guests but will also be available for external membership for a monthly fee. It will therefore be the only spa facility in the locality.

But while work continues on the development over the next few months its business as usual for the current spa.

“We are getting very excited about the new spa facility being completed,” said Peter Burnett, Managing Director of The Corran.

“The existing spa serves us very well but the new development gives us an even more impressive facility which will be open to people and residents in the area.”

The hotel has undergone a dramatic transformation in the past two years following a change in ownership.

The boutique hotel takes advantage of the beauty of its position surrounded by Laugharne marshland, houses 21 boutique suites and boasts a range of luxury facilities.

But despite the hotel featuring in the Sunday Times’ Top 100 Hotels in the World list twice, its owners

told The Herald that are keen not to stand still.

“The hotel had an extensive refurbishment in 2013 but we have not stopped there and we have more exciting plans in the pipeline,” added Mr. Burnett.
