British Airways plane circles over west Wales

shutterstock_187642748A BRITISH AIRWAYS plane was spotted circling over west Wales yesterday (Jul 3) before returning to London. The BA295 flight could be seen over Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, with some speculating that it may have been dumping fuel.

The Boeing 747-436 was on a flight to Chicago when it begun to circle over west Wales, before continuing on its flight path towards Ireland, then turning back and returning to Heathrow airport in London.

British Airways’ Head of Flight Technical and Training, Dave Thomas, cited an “operational issue” as the reason for the return to London.

“Our pilot returned to Heathrow as a precaution after a minor technical fault. The flight landed safely.

“The safety and security of our customers and crew is always our top priority.”

The path of the plane was captured by Flight Radar 24.
