A DIRECTOR of bus company has appeared in Swansea Crown Court charged with fourteen sexual offences.
Businessman Benjamin Daniel Hewens, who is currently listed on companies house as a director of Laugharne Travel Ltd, is said to have had sexual relations with a girl of 13 years old between August last year and December last year.

Many of the charges are indictable only, and the case which originated at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court is now being dealt with at the Crown Court.

The defendant is also accused of having 180 category C indecent photographs of a child in his possession between July 1, 2018 and December 2, 2018.

The 29-year-old has denied all the charges and a trial will now be heard at Swansea Crown Court on June 1, 2020.

Representatives from the bus firm have distanced themselves from the defendant saying he is now not working for the company

The Laugharne Travel website says the following: “Laugharne Travel was established by Roger & Sandra Hewens in Laugharne in 2002 with just one Minibus and one Taxi… Today the company is still overseen by Roger, however his sons Stuart and Ben are now at the helm of the company.”
