Camua Bach nursery re-opens following temporary closure

Untitled-7CAMAU BACH, the nursery which temporarily shut after a toddler was left in a minibus for two hours outside the premises in Aberystwyth, has re-opened this week.

The young boy was left in the minibus on the hottest day of the year so far (Jul 19) for two hours. On that day, temperatures reached 31.8C (89.2F).

Afterwards the incident was referred to the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales which has now concluded its inquiry, as well as Ceredigion council’s safeguarding board.

Ceredigion Council said in a statement:  “We can confirm that inquiries under the All Wales Child Protection Procedures have been completed. The provider is working closely with the regulatory body in order to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place at the facility.”

The member of staff remains suspended, according to Mudiad Meithrin, the charity which runs the nursery.

The parents of the boy left in the minibus said he was “distressed” by the incident.
