EMERGENCY services had to attend a road traffic collision involving a blue Citreon motor vehicle and a cyclist on a Carmarthenshire road on January 20.

The A483 Ammanford Road in Tycroes had to be closed between Mountain Gate Inn and Capel Hendre to allow emergency services to help at the scene.

Dyfed Powys-Police and an emergency ambulance arrived at the scene at approximately 1:45pm, before the Wales Air Ambulance made a landing on the road for further assistance.

A spokeswoman for the Wales Air Ambulance told the Herald: “I can confirm Wales Air Ambulance responded to a RTC in the Tycroes area, involving a cyclist. The crew was mobilised at 13:57 and landed on scene at 14:08.”

The doctor from the air ambulance accompanied the male cyclist by road ambulance to Morriston Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police are looking for further information on this matter, and if the public have any details they may believe assist police, they are being urged to contact 101.

The A483 re-opened at 2:40pm for public use.
