FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a flat in Woods Row Court this morning (Jul 6) after receiving reports at 6:14am.
The Herald understands that the blaze sent flames through a top window flat, which lead to the police evacuating residents and closing Chapel Street and Woods Row to ensure their safety.
The fire has now been put out and an investigation is underway. The flat in question has suffered some significant damage which is visible from the road.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokewoman has released the following statement: “We are still at the scene – there is an investigation now, dealing with the aftermath. The fire was on the first floor.
“We had hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and ventilation fans.”
