Carmarthenshire benefiting from Welsh Government’s Nest scheme

_73471422_019336772-1OVER 1,700 Carmarthenshire residents contacted the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme last year for help to heat their homes and reduce their energy bills.

Nest’s 2015-16 annual report has been published by the Welsh Government and shows that over 17,000 households across Wales were helped last year and over 85,000 households since the scheme started in 2011.

In addition, over 700 low income households in Carmarthenshire also received home energy efficiency improvements funded by the Welsh Government.  Over 23,700 households across Wales have received free home energy efficiency improvements through Nest since 2011 including central heating systems and insulation.

Lee Parry, Head of Nest, said: “We are delighted by our success over the past year as we continue to help people who are struggling to heat their homes and worry about their energy bills.

“Nest is open to all householders in Wales and provides advice on saving energy, money management, energy tariffs and benefit entitlement to help reduce the cost of energy bills.

“In addition to advice, people who live in a home that is hard to heat and receive a means tested benefit may also be eligible for free home energy efficiency improvements from Nest.”

Nest can be contacted on Freephone 0808 808 2244 or visit www.nestwales.org.uk for advice on reducing energy bills and to find out if you qualify for a package of home energy efficiency improvements.
