Closure notices issued to licensed premises for breaches of coronavirus regulations

POLICE and council officials have shut two premises in Carmarthenshire for breaches of Coronavirus regulations.

The Railway public house in Ammanford and Ammanford & District Miners club have both been issued 48-hour closure notices, the council has said.

Carmarthenshire County Council posted on Facebook saying: “Our enforcement officers have been out with Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police today visiting premises to check compliance with Covid-19 regulations.

“The Railway, Ammanford, has been issued with a closure order for 48 hours due to breaches witnessed during our inspection.”

“A 48-hour closure notice has also been served on the Ammanford & District Miners Welfare Club for breach of coronavirus regulations.”

The council had previously posted saying as follows: “We’re out and about across the county this weekend calling at licensed sites, cafes, hairdressing salons and beauty and more, offering

Covid-19 advice and regulations, and enforcement if needed. Thank you to Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police for their help. We appreciate all your comments.

“We are visiting premises and taking action for the safety and welfare of you and your communities. Businesses that are unsure of the Welsh Government measures should visit their website

“We really hope to see businesses doing their best, however if we have concerns we will not hesitate to take appropriate action.”
