Comic con is coming back to Swansea

Swansea Comic and Gaming Convention announced today that they had agreed to work in partnership with the City and County of Swansea to produce their forthcoming event, which is due to return to Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall on Saturday 4th April 2020 for it’s 5th year.

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Rob Stewart, said “My officers are looking forward to working with the Convention team in innovative ways to help this excellent community and cultural event continue to expand and grow.”

Adam Wilmot, one of the SCGC Directors, agreed, “These are exciting times. We’re already looking at ways we can expand the scope of the event, with a view to being ready to move into the Digital Arena as a two-day show when it opens in 2021.”

The convention will once again be raising money for charity, as it celebrates Swansea’s rich culture of all things geek. This year the event is supporting the Welsh Ape and Monkey Sanctuary. Rosie Nelson, the WAMS centre co-ordinator, said “We really appreciate support from events like SCGC. As we receive no government funding, every penny we get is vital to our continued survival.”
