Cwmduad: Man killed by Storm Callum landslide

AN UNNAMED male was killed after a landslip struck near the village of Cwmduad, Carmarthenshire – which one of the areas worst-affected by Storm Callum over the weekend.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the victim — whose age wasn’t given — died at the scene on the A484.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “Though the worst of the rain has passed, river levels in parts of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire are still exceptionally high and a number of roads and bridges remain closed.
“Officers continue to deal with a landslide on the A484 at Cwmduad, Carmarthenshire, where tragically a man has died. His next of kin has been informed and his family is being supported by specially trained officers. The road is closed and will be for some time.
A second man died in Wales at Storm Callum hit. He was pulled from the water dead at Penarth Marina near Cardiff after plunging into the stormy seas.
The 32-year-old man was taken to University Hospital in Wales, but couldn’t be saved.
A woman, 35, who had been with him in the water at the time was rescued.
The couple are believed to have been walking by the Marina when they were swept into the sea.
t is now believed to be the worst flood Wales has faced in more than 30 years.
“We have looked at the records and we are looking at records about 30 years ago when we had an event of this size and significance,” Aneurin Cox, of Natural Resources Wales said
