Dead St John Lloyd pupil was bullied, father claims

THE FATHER of Bradley John, the 14-year-old boy who died at St John Lloyd school on Wednesday (Sept 12), claims he was bullied.

Byron John said that ‘bullying at any level shouldn’t ever happen’.

Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating Bradley’s death but say they are not treating it as suspicious.

Mr John said: “Bradley was so loved… if he could have seen that, we could have prevented this.

“Whatever we do now we will never see him, laugh with him, get mad at him.

“He was my best friend, my mate, nothing’s going to bring him back.”

Carmarthenshire County Council have said that it would be ‘inappropriate to speculate on the circumstances’.

Specialist police officers are supporting the family and working with the school and the local authority to support the children and staff affected by what happened.

Inspector Chris Neve said: “Bradley’s death has shaken the local community and on behalf of Dyfed-Powys Police I offer my deepest sympathy to his family.

“We are following-up all possible lines of enquiry to establish a picture of what happened in the lead-up to Bradley’s death. Specially trained officers are supporting the family at this tragic time and working with the school to support his peers.”

Mr John paid tributes to his son yesterday, saying: “We as a family are devastated to lose Bradley.  He was such a charismatic, wonderful and dearly loved individual.

“He was an accomplished horse rider and founding member of the Three Counties Bloodhounds, who hunt the scent of a human runner.

“Bradley was the absolute centre of our world.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support at this horrific time. It has meant so much to the whole family.”
