Deadline looming for council’s new housing register

PEOPLE on Carmarthenshire County Council’s housing register are being urged to sign up online to Home Finder before the end of this month.

There are still some applicants who have not transferred across to the new system which will allow people to see what affordable homes are available to rent or buy.

The new scheme will be replace the current system from March 29, and existing applicants will need to transfer across before then in order to remain on the list or to be able to express an interest in any of the advertised homes online.

Applicants can log into the new system using their log in details which can be found on the front of letters sent out. Support is available for those who don’t have internet access.

The order of priority for allocations remains the same as the current system.

The councils’ executive board member for housing, Cllr Linda Davies-Evans said: “I would urge people who wish to remain on our current housing register to sign up online before the deadline on March 29. Letters have been sent out and log in details are included. Officers can guide you through the process if need be.”
