Fine for Lampeter licensee

THE OWNER and licence-holder of a Lampeter pub has been fined £2885 (including court costs) for breaching the conditions of his premises licence.

David Lippiatt, from the Gwent area, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates Court on Friday (Sept 30), for seven offences at Kings Head public house. Officers also seized a gaming machine being operated without a licence.

John Evans, police licensing officer, said: “Mr Lippiatt was visited on July 7 as part of police activity to secure compliance with basic premises licence conditions; most of which have been in place for 12 years.

“These conditions are in place to keep people safe and we will continue visiting licenced premises to make checks. The simple message is: read your premises licence and comply with the instructions or you may face a fine.”
