Fire service called to house fire

fireA HOUSE FIRE on Hendre Road in Garnant saw the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service tackling a blaze last night (Oct 9).

The fire started around 6:20pm and fire crews from Ammanford and Amman Valley were called to the house.

They used two thermal imaging cameras, hose reel jets, breathing apparatuses and atriple extension ladder in their fight with the blaze.

Dyfed-Powys Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A fire service spokesperson said: “We were called at approximately 6.20pm last night to a fire that started on a flat roof above the kitchen of a property in Garnant.

“Crews were in attendance until approximately 7.40pm and members of the police and ambulance services were also in attendance.”
