Four hospitalised following crash on A48

FOUR people have been hospitalised after a crash on the A48 between Cross Hands and Llanddarog.

The crash, which involved a lorry and two cars, happened at around 8:30pm last night (Nov 6).

Firefighters had to release two females from a car.

Dyfed-Powys Police and the Wales Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “One person was released by fire service personnel and paramedics, and another was released using hydraulic cutting equipment and spreading equipment.

“A spine board and a teardrop (casualty shield) were in use.”

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 8.42pm on Monday night and three emergency ambulances and three rapid response vehicles attended.

“Two patients were taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea and a further two patients were taken to Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen.”

The nature of the injuries are not yet known.
