Four killed in Good Friday car crash in Powys

heddlupoliceFOUR people have been killed after two cars collided in crash over Easter which has been described by those at the scene as horrific.

Dyfd-Powys Police have confirmed to The Herald that two passengers from each car, A silver Vauxhall Agila and a red Seat Leon, were killed in the accident, and one other person remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The incident took place on the A470 in Powys between Rhayader and the Llangurig roundabout on Good Friday.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys police said: “Police attended a two-vehicle road traffic accident that occurred at approximately 11.40am on 25 March.

“The driver of the red Seat Leon was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is described as being in a stable condition.

“The road was closed while specialist officers conducted a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the collision. Dyfed-Powys family liaison officers are supporting the families of both vehicles.”

Police are supporting the families of those in both cars. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
