WALES’ favourite tea brand, Glengettie, has launched its new marketing campaign, with a series of radio adverts featuring Di Botcha, who plays Aunty Brenda in the much-loved series, Stella.
The radio campaign highlights the heritage of the brand, having been passed down from generation to generation as Di Botcha, who plays Aunty Gwen within the adverts, makes it clear to the family that it’s got to be the best tea in their teapots, and of course it’s got to be Glengettie!
Di Botcha was born in Port Talbot and plays a fierce and forthright character in Stella, she’s never afraid to share her opinion, and often sticks her nose in where it’s certainly not welcome. However when it comes down to it, she’s always supportive of the family. Di Botcha told Glengettie that they’d just finished filming for Stella’s Christmas special, and she couldn’t believe what was in store for her character in Stella Series 6!
Di Botcha says: “I love a good cuppa and for me it’s got to be Glengettie. We can’t get enough of it in our family; we’ve drunk it for as long as I can remember, so it’s great to be able to work so close to the brand”.
The 6 month radio campaign has launched on Heart, Capital and the Wave and Swansea Sound and is supported by further marketing activity including outdoor advertising, online activity and a Glengettie tea tour which sets off next year on St David’s Day.
The tour team will be taking over Wales in a Glengettie camper van, giving out cups of Glengettie to those in need of a quality cuppa, and reminding the public that there’s no comparison. Glengettie will also be running a competition to win UK family adventure breaks as part of the Glengettie tea tour.
For many, a cup of tea is about bringing family and friends together, and it’s just not the same without a decent brew. The campaign sets out to reignite the brand and get family and friends to take the time to have a quality cuppa.

Glengettie Tea has also launched a new Decaf and premium Glengettie Gold variant, available in packs of 80 teabags.
