Iconic Camarthan town centre hotel brought to market for £3m

Front1THE IVY BUSH HOTEL in Carmarthen has been brought to the market with a price tag of £3m. With 1.5 acres of ground and situated on the main routes into some of west Wales’ most popular tourist hotspots, it’s an attractive purchase for those looking to make a property investment, according to Christie & Co.

John Coggins of Christie & Co’s Cardiff office who is handling the sale says: “The Ivy Bush Royal is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a highly profitable town centre hotel of a scale that rarely comes to the market.

“The hotel has an excellent reputation and significant presence in both the local leisure and business market giving it a healthy trade mix of both leisure and commercial clients. This has helped it to achieve year on year sales growth with current net sales in excess of £1.7m per year.

“The Ivy Bush Royal enjoys excellent levels of profitability but offers real scope for new owners to push the business forward. This can be done by growing room sales and further developing the function and events trade to take advantage of the hotel’s presence in the town.”

The hotel has been under its current ownership for the last 13 years, in which time it has been extensively modernised and upgraded to offer 70 ensuite guest bedrooms, a lounge/bar, restaurant, health suite, extensive function/meeting facilities and parking. The original parts of the building are believed to date back to the 18th century.
