Lampeter: Shocking discovery as police raid properties in drugs busts

POLICE have seized heroin and MDMA from three homes in Lampeter after being tipped off by concerned residents.

Two warrants were carried out in College Street in the town centre under the Misuse of Drugs Act, while police also searched a further property on the same street.

Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police said that they were responding to “concerns from the community” when they entered the homes on Thursday morning (July 13).

Pictures captured by officers at the scene show what they were confronted with when they entered one of the premises, with drug paraphernalia strewn all over a kitchen floor and worktops.

Police said three people were set to be interviewed later this week in connection with the discovery.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police told The Herald: “Two warrants were carried out at College Street, Lampeter, under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Thursday, July 13.

“Police powers were also used to search a further premises on the street.

“Class A and B drugs – heroin, MDMA and cannabis – were seized from all three properties.

“Three people are due to be voluntary interviewed in the coming week.”

The spokeswoman added that anyone who had concerns about the selling or taking of illegal drugs in their community was asked to contact police by calling 101.
