llanellimagA LLANDEILO resident pleaded guilty to nine charges of possessing indecent photographs of children.
Ben Barrett of Llandeilo appeared on bail before the bench at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Jun 30).
Prosecutor Sharon Anderson explained that a warrant was executed at the defendant’s home on the grounds of information received.

On the officers entering his home, Barrett is alleged to have said: “I think I know why you’re here.”

In executing the warrant, officers seized several items that included a laptop and mobile. On examination, the devices were found to contain around 450 images, some of which were in the most serious category – A. Images in categories B and C were also recovered.

Due to the seriousness of the charges, Magistrates declined jurisdiction and transferred the case for sentence at Swansea Crown Court on July 22.

Barrett was granted bail until that date on condition that he has no unsupervised contact with any individual under the age of 18 and that he must reside and sleep at his home address.
