Llanfyrnach: Transport boss accused of falsifying inspection records

THE DIRECTOR of Mansel Davies & Son Limited has appeared Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court today (Jun 3) charged with falsifying Periodic Maintenance Inspection Sheets for various vehicles.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency allege that Stephen Mansel Davies, 56, of The Haven, Llanfyrnach, is in breach the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.

Prosecuting barrister, Lee Reynolds, said an investigation into the records of Mansel Davies & Son Ltd began after one of its vehicles was involved in a routine stop.

Jonathan Wyn Phillips, 27, an employee is also accused. He is facing 34 charges.

The pair are accused of making a false instrument between October 1, 2017 and February 2, 2019.

They were released on bail to appear at Swansea Crown Court on July 5.

Mansel Davies & Son Limited is based at Llanfyrnach and employs around 300 people.
