JOYCE WATSON AM learned about ambitious plans for a ‘Great Welsh Water Park’ on a recent visit to Llys y Fran.

A decision is soon expected on Welsh Water’s £4million plans to transform the Pembrokeshire country park and reservoir into a first class leisure destination. Plans, presented last September to Pembrokeshire Council, include an interactive water playzone, a water sports activity centre and improved fishing and walking facilities.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water invited Mrs Watson to take a guided tour of the site. The Labour Mid and West AM sits on the Assembly committees for business and the environment. She said:

“My family and I visit here quite often, for walks and birdwatching, so I was very curious to learn more about these plans, preliminary as they are, of course.”

Situated near Haverfordwest, the estate comprises a 212 acres man-made lake surrounded by a grassland and woodland park.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is working with Visit Wales, the tourism arm of Welsh Government, on the project.
