Man accused of attempting to meet a young boy

A 64-YEAR-OLD man appeared before magistrates at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Jan 31) to face a charge of attempting to meet a young boy.

Michael Andrew Hume of Glannant House, College Road in Carmarthen, pleaded not guilty to having met or communicated with the boy under the age of 16, not reasonably believing he was of the age of consent, and attempting to meet him, intending to do something which would have been a sexual offence.

Hume was sent for trial at Swansea Crown Court on March 4 at 9.30am.

Hume must abide by a curfew until that date between 7pm and 7am, and must not contact any person under the age of 16.
