Local man who died in house fire named [Updated]

A MAN who tragically died following a house fire at a property in Dyslwyn on Saturday afternoon (Nov 13) has been named locally as Huw Ambrose.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however the police say it is not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services including Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Dyfed-Powys Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene.

A fire service spokesperson said: “At 12:48pm on Saturday we received a call of a house fire in the Dryslwyn area.

“Sadly, the body of a male was found at the property.

“Crews from Llandeilo, Carmarthen, Ammanford, Tumble and Llanelli attended the incident and firefighters extinguished the fire.”

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called just before 1.50pm on Saturday, November 12, to a report of a house fire in the Dryslwyn area.

“Next of kin have been advised.

“H.M. Coroner has been advised.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of the fire.”
