Man trapped in car following five-car incident on A48

A MAN is trapped in a car on the A48 outside of Carmarthen following a five-vehicle crash this morning (Nov 29).

The crash, which happened at 8:30am, resulted in two men being injured.

One man is being treated for injuries at the scene as emergency services work on freeing another from his car.

The crash happened near Foelgastell junction near Cross Hands.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.32am to reports of a road traffic collision involving five vehicles, on the A48 between Nantycaws and Cross Hands.

“One male is trapped and another is receiving first aid from a nurse at the scene. Fire crews are using hydraulic cutting equipment to release the trapped male.”

Both lanes of the A48 heading eastbound are closed with diversions in place.

Heavy traffic and congestion is to be expected.
