Pedestrian hospitalised after being hit by car at Ammanford’s Wilko store

A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a car today (Jan 27) outside Ammanford’s Wilko Store, and has been subsequently taken to hospital. 

The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance with “non life threatening injuries,” after being hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa.
Witnesses have said that the driver had shouted “my brakes have failed”, before mounting the pavement and knocking down the man in question.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at just before 1pm today (Jan 27) to reports of a pedestrian having been knocked over near Winkinston Store, Carregamman, Ammanford.
“We attended with a Rapid Response Vehicle and an Emergency Ambulance and a male adult has been conveyed to Morriston Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.”
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson also confirmed that they had attended the scene, saying: “A black Vauxhall Corsa and a male pedestrian were involved in the collision. The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital by ambulance.”
The police has asked for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Ammanford Police on 101.
