Pembrokeshire Leader’s Coronavirus Update. Tuesday 21st April

PCC County Hall

Pembrokeshire County Council Leader, Councillor David Simpson,
has provided a further coronavirus update for Tuesday, 21st April, as
follows:

‘I want to thank you – the residents of Pembrokeshire – for your
continued support and resolve in tackling this pandemic. At times like
this you really appreciate what you have and we all love our beautiful
county.

‘Pembrokeshire is blessed with beautiful scenery, fantastic walks,
world-class coastline, castles, beaches and, most importantly, great
communities.

‘We can explore the jewels of our county later. Now is the time to
support each other, support those who are less fortunate and support
those who need help.

‘If you know someone who needs helps, please inform our
Community Hub on 01437 776301. Do not assume someone else
maybe doing it. So please support your community and especially
those in need.

‘I also want to highlight that last night the Westminster Government
launched a new ‘support finder’ tool which will help businesses and
self-employed people across the UK to quickly and easily determine
what financial support is available to them during the COVID-19
pandemic.

‘The finder tool, on GOV.UK, will ask business owners to fill out a
simple online questionnaire – which only takes minutes to complete –
and they will then be directed to a list of all the financial support they
may be eligible for.

‘We have added a link to our website to make it easier for businesses
to review the support tool kit:

‘My thanks to everyone who have left notes to say “thank you” to our
waste and recycling crews. This means a lot to me and my
colleagues. I am also very aware that they too appreciate the support.
‘Many individuals out there are doing sterling work, whether they be a
critical worker or key worker, volunteer, kind neighbour or simply a
good friend to talk to.

‘Please keep going everyone. I am very proud at the way we are all
tackling this together. I do hope that each day you find time to reflect
and appreciate how everyone is pulling together. Acts of kindness are
all around us which is extremely humbling
‘Please support each other where you can, stay in touch with family
and friends and look out for one another.

‘Remember: stay strong, stay at home and stay safe.
