SIMON HART MP is pictured awarding publican Christie Goymer of the Plash Inn Llanfallteg with a certificate for coming runner-up in the Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year competition.
The competition was run by the British Beer and Pub Association and had 120 entries from all over the country.
Mr Hart nominated The Plash Inn after a number of visits, he said: “I think the Plash is a wonderful pub, it is truly at the heart of its community and Christie comes up with great ideas such as Blue Bag Fridays when a special menu is put on once every two weeks to coincide with recycling bin day.
“I was delighted that she did so well in the competition.”
