Police investigate vandalism to display car

POLICE in Carmarthen are investigating after a display car parked on St. Catherine’s Walk was badly damaged by vandals.

It’s alleged that two men in hooded tops approached the car from the multi-storey car park and began jumping on the brand new white Mazda MX5 before breaking in, releasing the handbrake and letting it roll into a wall outside Next.

The car is worth around £20,000 and was parked on display outside Debenhams. It is owned by Carmarthen Mazda dealer, HG Bryer & Sons.

Speaking to the Herald, company director Jessica Bryer said while they had three cars on display, only one of them was damaged.

The incident occurred in the early hours of bank holiday Monday (May 28) between 1:45am and 2:20am.

Police say the two men left the area heading towards the market.

If you have any information which could help police with their investigation, please call Dyfed-Powys Police on 101 for the attention of PC Williams 266.
