Police issue warning after 15 vans broken into

DYFED-POWYS POLICE has issued advice after 15 vans were broken into across west Wales last week on the same night.

On Wednesday (Jun 6), vans were damaged and broken into in Haverfordwest, Fishguard, St Clears, Carmarthen and Ammanford.

All of the vans were Ford Transits.

Power tools were among the items stolen from the vehicles.

Dyfed-Powys Police are now investigating the spate of break-ins and thefts and is appealing for any witnesses.

Temporary Detective Inspector Wayne Bevan said: “We have had 15 reports of vans being broken into, and I would urge van owners, users and residents to report anything suspicious to police immediately.

“I’d like to remind people, particularly those who have high value power tools in their vehicles to be vigilant when loading and unloading, and to increase security measures to keep property safe.

“If anyone is offered tools in suspicious circumstances, please do not buy them and let police know immediately via 101.

“You can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
