Police officers face theft charge

'No shortage of prime lamb': NFU Cymru.

A CARMARTHENSHIRE police officer is one of three members of Dyfed Powys Police who will face allegations of theft at a trial in June.
On Monday March 30, Police Constable Christopher Edwards of Llangennech appeared at Cardiff Crown Court alongside former Detective Sergeant Stephen Phillips of Winch Wen and Police Constable Michael Stokes of Glynneath.
The accused, all of whom served or are serving with South Wales Police, have entered not guilty pleas to the theft of £30,000.
They are alleged to have taken cash from the home of a suspected criminal and were arrested as part of an internal police inquiry.
The trio are next due in court for a case management hearing on April 24.
