Pont Abraham celebrates motorway service area stars

Two members of the team at Roadchef’s Pont Abraham motorway service area (MSA) on the M4 have been recognised for their long-standing dedication to the business.

Christine Davies has had a long and varied career with Roadchef since she joined 35 years ago, starting in the Restbite restaurant, before moving into the cash office, and then finally settling in the HR department, where she continues to be an important asset to the team. Christine is married with three children and a grandson, who she loves spending time with, and often takes them all on holiday to Cardigan to stay in their converted railway carriage.

Amanda started 30 years ago, working part time in the Restbite restaurant. Her hard work and dedication saw her promoted to supervisor, then team leader, and finally her current role as operations manager. Amanda has a lot going on outside of work, including three grandchildren and a new puppy. When she’s not working or with her family, she also enjoys going on walking holidays throughout the year.

CEO of Roadchef, Mark Fox, who presented the Long Service Award to both employees commented: “It is excellent, hardworking staff like Christine and Amanda that make Roadchef the company it is today. Their loyalty to Roadchef and ability to de-stress and delight customers throughout their time here, shows what a great place it is to work if you want an enjoyable career.”

Roadchef employs more than 2,500 people in the UK, across its 30 locations, and boasts an outstanding employee retention record. Roadchef has recently been awarded an “Investors in People Gold” accreditation for the support and development of its team. Less than 100 companies in the UK hospitality industry have achieved this accolade.
