A MAN has died after being hit by a vehicle on the A48 between Cross Hands roundabout and Pont Abraham services, Carmarthenshire.
Police said that the incident happened at around 1.22am on Sunday morning. Police officers and ambulance personnel were called to the scene of the collision, which happened on the eastbound stretch of the carriageway near the Cwmgwili junction.
Both sides of the A48 were closed for around four hours as a result, with the westbound side reopening at around 5.20am.
It is the third pedestrian death in recent days. A woman was recently killed on the A4076 near Haverfordwest and a male on the A40 near Fishguard.
