The journey took Andrew to the Budwig Centre in Malaga, Spain which provides alternative therapies for cancer sufferers. Friends and family rallied together to fund Andrew ‘s treatment however he finally lost his brave battle with the disease at the age of 52.

Andrew who was originally from Llanpumpsaint was a well known and well loved member of the community in Carmarthen where the family ran Siop y Pentan and in Llandeilo where he and his wife Llio lived and brought up their four children before moving to Ammanford.

S4C Director of Content and Broadcasting, Dafydd Rhys paid tribute to Andrew saying: “Andrew was a key figure in a range of S4C series from almost the very beginning of S4C. He worked on a range of genres, in particular documentaries and children’s programmes, and had a natural interest in people and an instinct for a good story.

“His enthusiasm and creativity as a cameraman inspired a generation of people to work in the film and TV industry. He will be a great loss to the creative industries and the closeknit local community. We offer our deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time.”
