ON MONDAY (Aug 1), Llansawel residents had a Post Office on their doorstep for the first time in over 10 years.
Customers ventured out on a wet afternoon to the mobile office in the village hall car park, where Llandeilo postmaster, Geraint Price, provides all the usual post office services, sells a selection of newspapers and magazines, offers blue recycling bags, and accepts rent and council tax payments for Carmarthenshire County Council.
The Post Office van will be in Llansawel every Monday afternoon between 2.15pm and 3.15pm.
