School girl hit by car

AFTER a young girl was hit by a car outside Ysgol y Dderwen, concerns were raised about parents’ inappropriate parking.

A school girl was in a collision outside of the school, but was not seriously injured. As a result of this, head teacher, Dylan Evans has sent out a letter to parents urging them to stop parking in places where they are not supposed to.

In the said letter, he asked, “How would you feel if this was your child?”

Evans told parents that a child was hit by a car as she left the car park due to a minority of parents parking inappropriately. He stated: “Even though I have asked some parents and guardians to park in appropriate spaces, including using the lower car park, some still ignore this request.”

He confirmed that the child was not seriously injured.

The school cooperate with the police during the term to avoid such accidents and to solve the traffic congestion in Heol Spurrell. They hope that their letter can stop any incidents like this from happening again.
