Six crashes in a day on A48

FOLLOWING a hail shower, five cars crashed within the space of an hour on the A48 on Monday (Feb 12).

A total of six incidents happened within a 12-mile radius between Carmarthen and Cross Hands, but thankfully no one was seriously injured.

The first car collided with the central reservation at around 2pm, and later that evening one vehicle travelling on the east-bound carriageway lost traction and rolled several times before coming to rest in the verge.

Another incident took place on the same side of the carriageway near the Cross Hands roundabout, while three cars were also involved in collisions on the west-bound road.

These crashes all took place between 7.50pm and 8.50pm, and the weather conditions led to Dyfed-Powys Police advising drivers to ‘use caution when driving in icy conditions and to allow extra time to reach their destination safely’.
