A NUMBER of homes are currently without power in Carmarthenshire, as Western Power Distribution struggle to deal with the impact of Storm Imogen.
37 properties in the Meinciau and Four Roads area are without power, as are 20 properties around Nantgaredig. Further to the east, properties in Hendy and Pontarddulais are among 826 affected in the Swansea/ Loughor area.
It is thought that damage caused to overhead lines by the strong winds has caused most of the problems.
A spokesperson for Western Power said that as a result of ‘forward planning following advanced Met Office weather predictions’ extra engineering and call centre staff were in place.
