Stretch of A40 closed after four-vehicle crash

Welsh-policeA CRASH involving four vehicles has closed a stretch of the A40 in both directions this morning (Oct 17).

A diversion is currently in place directing traffic onto the A4069 through Llangadog.

The crash happened at approximately 9:20am between the A482 junction in Llanwrda and the Heol Rhos junction in Llandovery.

Emergency services including the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Dyfed-Powys Police and Welsh Ambulance Service are at the scene.

There are currently no reports of any injuries.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “We received a call at 9.10am this morning after four cars were involved in a collision on the A40. The road has been closed for the past hour and remains closed at this time. A diversion is in place.”

A spokesperson for the fire service added: “We were called at about 9.20am to reports of a four-vehicle road traffic collision on the A40 near Llandovery. A rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance are currently in attendance at the scene.”
