YNGHIYD CIC, in association with Burns in the Community and the Stroke Association, are delighted to announce that a stroke awareness/blood pressure testing event is coming to Kidwelly on Friday, October 28.

The event will take place in two locations in the town – in the Cwtch, Parc y Bocs from 10am until 1pm, and later that same day in the Kidwelly Community Hub, Bridge Street from 2pm until 4pm.

The event is an officially registered Stroke Association blood pressure testing event, staffed by trained professionals from the Stroke Association.

People are invited to drop in and have their blood pressure professionally taken and be given advice on matters relating to strokes, including the risks, warning signs and effects of strokes, by specialist workers from the Stroke Association.

Phil Thompson, a director of Ynghyd CIC and Kidwelly Community Hub Committee member and one of the event’s organisers, said: “It is a great opportunity both to raise awareness about strokes, which are a major health issue, and give people the chance to not only learn about the danger signs, but also see if they are at risk”

Phil added: “It is also wonderful to see organisations working together here in Kidwelly to bring events to the town for the benefit of the community.”

“No appointment is necessary; members of the community are welcome just to drop in at any time during the event.”
