Tributes paid to three-year-old following farm death

A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy who died after being hit by a vehicle on a Llanybydder farm on Sunday afternoon (Oct 21) has been named as Evan Lloyd Williams.

The young boy died in an incident with a vehicle at approximately 4:25pm.

He tragically died at the scene.

Police are now investigating the incident and specially trained officers are supporting the family.

A police spokesperson said: “It’s with great sadness we confirm the child who died suddenly near Llanybydder is three-year-old Evan Lloyd Williams.

“The family do not wish to comment but have asked to be left to grieve in peace.”

The headteacher of Evan’s school, Nia Lloyed Thomas, paid tribute to the young pupil, saying: “Evan was a popular and invaluable member of the Ysgol Bro Siôn Cwilt family.

“His loss will be felt massively across the entire school community, who were witness to his personality and beautiful nature.

“Let us all send our sincere condolences to Evan’s parents, his older brother and sister, together with the entire family during this awful, sad and difficult period.”

Councillor Euros Davies said: “Everyone I have spoken to are hurt and their hearts are bleeding for the family.

“The hurt and the loss there is beyond anyone’s dreams.”

Cllr Ieuan Davies added: “The community is in terrible shock but nobody seems to know exactly what has happened.

“It is awful for the family.”
