‘Tornado’ causes ‘absolute carnage’ at holiday park

WHAT was described as a ‘tornado’ hit a holiday park near Aberystwyth this morning (Nov 17) which resulted in ‘absolute carnage’.

Posting on social media site Twitter, Thomas Scarrot, Director of Vale Holidays, posted pictures of the aftermath of high winds which had demolished a caravan and sent debris flying on top of a car.

He said: ” Absolute carnage. Emergency services on scene. Everyone is safe though.

“Lucky escape!”

The Herald understands that several caravans were blown over at the park.

The high wind at Clarach Bay, near Aberystwyth, is not an isolated incident, as emergency services across Wales are responding to incidents related to the strong gusts.
